Import Format

Add multiple words separated by a semicolon (;). Each word pair format: english@foreign#article. The article is optional.

Examples:
de>dog@chien#le;cat@chat#la
de>house@Haus#das
de>apple@manzana (no article)
de>red car@coche rojo#el

Use the "Paste from Clipboard" button in the sidebar to import.

Sharing Projects

Click the share icon () on a project card to copy its words to the clipboard in the import format. You can paste this into another VOILA instance or share it.

Image Import (OCR)

This feature uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract words from images. Planned for a future Pro version. Stay tuned!

Translate Button (Beta)

In the sidebar's "Add New Word" menu, the Translate (beta) button attempts to translate the text entered in the first field (Works best in english) to the selected target language (German, Spanish, French, English) using Google Translate and inserts the result into the second field (Foreign Word). It uses an unofficial API, so functionality is not guaranteed.

Using Flashcards

Click a card to flip it and see the translation. Click the '×' on the card back to hide it temporarily (useful for words you've learned). Use the 'Reset' button () to flip all cards back and show hidden ones. Use the 'Shuffle' button () to randomize the card order.

If enabled in Settings, you can also press the Space bar to flip through the cards sequentially.

Editing & Deleting

Edit project names directly on the project card by clicking the edit icon. Add, edit, or delete words using the sidebar (☰). Changes are saved automatically.

Changing Background

Click the settings icon () in the bottom right (on the word view screen) to open the settings panel. In the "Background" section, click a thumbnail to change the background image. Your choice is saved locally.

Refreshing the Page

If you suspect the browser is showing a cached version, use the "Force Refresh Page" button () in the Settings panel () to ensure you load the latest version.
